»BE WATER MY FRIEND« METHODOLOGY

Creativity doesn’t happen by accident. It is our skill to learn how to imagine things in the right way and find ways to bring ideas to life.

A unique characteristic of creativity is its individuality. Just as every fingerprint can only be found once in the world, each of us has our own way of being creative. We are all creative. You cannot not be creative.

Creativity gives us three abilities. Curiosity, so we can be interested in things. Imagination, so we can look at things from different perspectives until we understand them. And naivety, so we can believe in our ideas and develop the confidence to tackle things that are new to us.

In 2017, I wanted to find out more and started the project »Be Water my Friend.« I wanted to understand the principles by which creativity works. What structure is it based on? Does creativity have specific rules and limits? Where does information end and where does interpretation begin? All of these are questions that motivated me to develop a methodology that allows you to work not only with your creativity but also on it. A framework that works like a piano. The construction defines what is fundamentally possible, but not the music you play on it.

Get to know your creativity in a new way. Strengthen your creative intelligence. Have you read my book? Have you been to one of my talks or has someone told you about my workshops?

CREATIVITY AS A SYSTEM
The »Be Water my Friend« Methodology

In addition to their duration, development processes also have a depth. In a professional context, the duration is often defined by deadlines, while career and personal development follow the principle of »lifelong learning« and lead to an open end.

In contrast, the depth of a development process determines the degree of maturity that can be achieved. But how do you penetrate a situation and the opportunities hidden within it? How do you find good solutions? How do you recognize the relevant connections?

My answer is perception. The key to opening that door is your creativity. I would be happy to show you how you can use the »Be Water my Friend« methodology to creatively illuminate and shape your development.

The workshop with Rafael was very inspiring and made me realize once again that in a creative profession, it is essential to encourage exchanges with others to step out of your comfort zone.

I learned to question myself more deeply and to challenge assumptions and processes from different perspectives, even when you feel like you‘ve already found the solution. I took away many impulses and have since integrated them into both my work environment and daily life. Thank you very much, dear Rafael, for this experience.

The BWMF methodology is anything but static, just like water. Calm, wild, gentle, hard, soft, cleansing, destructive, unpredictable...

Constantly in flux, it changes its state in relation to space and time. With a brilliantly conceived system, the BWMF methodology allows for the development of solutions, while remaining as flexible as water. Water always finds a way!

Rafael elevates the known design process to new levels with his BWMF methodology. Unknown dimensions of the creative and organizational decision-making process are explored and made tangible.

Hidden goals and obstacles become clear and are surprisingly easily resolved. The workshop based on the book provided me with my personal operating manual in my pocket, convincing me like a Swiss Army Knife.

It was really exciting to see how your system can be applied to such diverse cases and what a strong framework it provides for creative and smart solutions. It offered perspectives and structures and navigating through discussions with it was remarkable.

I really need to make time for the book. Hopefully, you find a good way to share the methodology with a broader audience, whether through the book or workshops. Very inspiring and motivating!
